Turns out, most are actually sick. Eighty-four percent of the people surveyed said they were really sick or were caring for a sick child the last time they called in sick. In fact, only one in five men (and only one in seven women) were lying about their most recent sick day. Those that were lying about their sick days said they used the day off to play hooky or take mental health day. Others said they were suffering from hangovers or interviewing for another job.
