Your Friendly Neighborhood Local Radio DJ Rick Rock “What is your real name?” That’s a question I often get. Yep,real name. I was born and raised in South Jersey. I first started speaking on a microphone about 60 years ago when the school principal allowed me to say the morning pledge of allegiance over the grade school PA system. I only hounded her for about a month before she finally gave in. From then on, I got behind a microphone every chance I had. My inspiration came from my favorite DJs on my favorite radio station WIBG, The Big 99 in Philadelphia. Ok I work on air at WIBG, but that is absolutely true. As a musician I found myself in radio stations from time to time and I dabbled in radio while working at other jobs and playing in bands my teen and early adult years. Then about 20 years ago I landed a temporary part time mid-day on air gig on 94.3 The call letters and ownership changed a few times over the years, but decades later,. I'm still here Mon-Fri 10 to 3  on 94.3 FM. Lucky me. I never imagined I would end up on WIBBAGE, the station I listened to when I was a kid. It’s a fantastic experience to have met so many wonderful people including colleagues, musical artists and most importantly listeners, many of whom have become dear friends. I’m privileged to share my days with everyone and anyone who chooses to hang out with me for music and fun for a few hours a day. It's always a joy and a thrill.  That's a little of me .. now you ...
